Georgia's Pre-K fosters the needed essentials: that                                            if the children are physically healthy, rested and                                                    well nourished, they are able to communicate                                                        needs, wants, and thoughts verbally; and that they                                              are enthusiastic and curious in approaching new                                                  activities.

Children learn through play and learning centers which are integral parts of a pre-kindergarten classroom. Pre-K classrooms should reflect an understanding of how children learn by emphasizing active learning, consistent daily routines, and the use of positive behavioral management and assessment strategies. The school readiness goals of the Georgia Pre-K program provide the appropriate preschool emphasizing growth in language and literacy, math concepts, science, social studies, arts, physical development, and social and emotional competence.

Little Dreamers Academy follows the High Scope curriculum in correlation with the GELS. This curriculum encourages children to plan, carry out and reflect on their own through learning activities daily. It teaches the "Plan - Do - Review" approach.

The program is offered "free" to all four-year-old children regardless of parent income. To participate, children must be four years of age on or before September 1st of the school year. The program provides a full 6.5 hour instructional day for children, five days a week. It is designed to be a 180 day program. Centers are required to follow their county's public school schedule regarding holidays, emergency days, and teacher workdays. There will not be any preschool for GA Pre-K classes on those days and additional care, extra-curricular activities, or events offered at the center will be additional fees.

Little Dreamers Academy, in partnership with Bright from the Start and the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, is proud to be home to two lottery-funded Georgia Pre-K classes.
